The Program

What does a day at Saplings look like?

Daily rhythm:

  • 11:00 am – 12:15 pm: themed offerings (classroom and children’s garden)
  • 12:15 pm -12:45 pm: picnic lunch and story
  • 12:45 pm – 1:30 pm: nature journaling and wooded trail
  • 1:30-2:00 return to classroom/ children’s garden

Each morning when families arrive, we will gather and read some books and introduce the day’s theme. There will then be a guided group activity to reinforce the topic. There will be books, games, toys, art materials, and loose parts available for use as well during this time.

We will then move as a group outside for lunch and stories and a discussion of the nature journaling prompt for the day.

After lunch we will move to the woods for nature journaling and play on the wooded trail.

We will then return to the classroom to finish any projects.

What is the parent’s responsibility?

Parents are required to remain on the property while their children are participating in the program. Thers is an optional drop off for children 7 and up.

Parents will rotate through a cleaning helper rotation and should expect to clean for about 20-30 minutes on their scheduled day. Parents should expect to volunteer about once/ month for one child in the program and twice/ month for 2 children.
